26.03. The first month of rugby scholarship in New Zealand
After one more month I learned a lot of new stuff
of this beautiful country specially the way
to appreciate things and how to respect the things that are given to you.
Three weeks ago I had my first Rugby game for the school and it showed me how big the difference between Germany and NZ is.
The game is a lot faster and harder in a physical way. It was the last trial for the first xv, we won the game.
After this game the game the first xv got named and
I got it in. In future games I will be playing for the first schoolteam and represent the pride of our school. One weekend later we had a another game which we sadly lost, but it gave us a lot of stuff to fix in our game.
So we did, the last two weeks we trained hard to fix our mistakes and learned how to do better. This weekend we have a game again against Kuranui High School in Greytown.
We are always taking the school vans to get to the games. It is a lot of fun to spend the time with the boys. I might be playing start position for the game so I practice everyday to get better and fix my issues. I definitely look forward for the session it will give me more experience and stuff to work on.

28.03.: Rugby scholarship in New Zealand
my name is Francisco. I am 16 years old and I am born and raised in Berlin.
Since I was a little kid I habe been sporty. But I did not found the right sport because every popular sport in Germany didn't suit me. So I tried something different, Rugby.
To be honest at the start it was hard for me to understand the rules and the game but it was getting better with the time.
My big passion for the sport started at the age of 14.
My new trainer told me to train with the senior team. At the start I was rather sceptical about it but it helped me a lot. Especially in the physical contact in the game because everyone was older and stronger than me.
So I needed to use the things I am good at it. I am fast and have a good foot work so I could always play against the seniors. When I was 15 I made the decision to join a new club because they have an under 16 age team. It was the best decision I could have made. After the physical training I learned the technical stuff about the game, passing, gap playing and to hold my defence.
I joined this club 1 year ago and I already won the Germans championship with this team and got nominated for the National team (U16). It was always my dream to go to New Zealand to become better in my favourite sport and becoming more confident in English.
If last year some of my boys in Germany wold me that in the start of 2016 I would be in New Zealand with a rugby scholarship I would have thought they're joking.
Now it is the truth and I'm enjoying living my dream.
I already had training for the first xv (highest level team) in my school. I will train hard and stay focused on the game to become better and best.
